Screen enclosures on the Gulf Coast live a tougher life than most people realize, and understanding why helps explain when it is worth calling us. Our sun is relentless. Months of intense ultraviolet light slowly makes screen brittle and fades and weakens the spline that holds it in the frame, which is why a panel that looked fine last year can suddenly tear at the slightest bump. The closer you are to the water, the more salt is in the air, and salt is quietly corrosive - it eats at screws, fasteners, and any exposed metal until a joint that once felt solid starts to loosen and rust-stain the frame.
Then there is the weather that arrives all at once.
